A Valentine's Tag

Hi everyone!

I was playing at a couple of challenges yesterday.  Maggi, whom you can find over at Swirlydoos, has started a monthly Tag Challenge that is "oh so fun!"; and because I love dies so much, I always check out the monthly sketch challenge at Die-Namites for some inspiration.

This is the sketch that I started with from Die-Namites.  I flipped it so the heart was at the top, started with my focal image and built from there.

The "dare" for the challenge, was to use a heart on your project.  That was no problem with the dies I chose!  The ones (click on them and you will find where they can be purchased) that I used are:

and

You can see here, that I used the heart cut-outs from the doily die to embellish the tag and the Flowing Heart shape.  I just added some Stickles glitter glue to them and popped up the one on the Flowing Heart with some foam tape.

Now Maggi's tutorial on tags was all about layers.  You can go here where she leads you through a step by step tutorial on creating layers.  You can also go here to see many samples of layered tags.

I used molding paste, gesso, die cuts, tags, flowers, and lace to create the layers on my tag.

In this photo you can see where I also printed out my digi image (which I purchased here at The Paper Shelter) three times, and then cut it up and stacked it using the paper tole technique.  The wings are the final layer.

Thanks for joining me today!  It's Family Day weekend here in Alberta and I hope where-ever you're peeking in from, you're enjoying the weekend and having good times with your families!
